Biography:
John Josephus Johnson is the Mathematics Department Chair at Battle High School in Columbia, Mo. He has been a classroom teacher for 11 years serving students ranging from At Risk programs to Honors level while teaching courses from 8th grade through AP Calculus.

Presentation Description:
Columbia Public Schools opened brand new Battle High School and gave every student an iPad. This is a description of how teachers learned to teach and students learned to learn using a tool that was so new to everyone. I will share our experiences about preparing to open a 1-1 school, the first few months when everyone was so excited, and how everyone settled in once came to grips with constant access to resources, content, and social media.
